Lewis Hamilton extends Mercedes contract.

Formula One star Lewis Hamilton has renewed his contract with the Mercedes team, ensuring he will race for them until the 2025 season ends. Hamilton, tied with Michael Schumacher for the highest number of F1 championships (seven), has been with Mercedes since 2013, following his initial years at McLaren starting in 2007.

At 38, Hamilton holds the record for the most F1 race victories, totaling 103. However, the 2022 season marked his first year without winning any Grand Prix, as rival Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing took the lead.

Hamilton expressed his enthusiasm in a statement, emphasizing his commitment and the hard work that goes into staying at the top. He praised his team for their support and expressed a strong desire to continue achieving more successes together.

This new agreement with Mercedes puts any speculation about Hamilton’s retirement to rest and confirms his stay in the sport past his 40th birthday. George Russell, another British driver and Hamilton’s teammate, has also extended his contract with Mercedes until 2025. Russell, who joined the Mercedes Junior program in 2017, shared his excitement about continuing with the team he considers home.
